Most charging problems are caused by stuck dirt or lint in the port – not a hardware defect.
With this simple guide, you can fix the problem yourself in under 5 minutes.
Step 1: Safely clean the charging port
Turn the device off completely: For safety, turn off the device before cleaning it.
-
Carefully remove lint:
Safe tools: Use a wooden toothpick or a thin plastic stick.
⚠️ Never use metal: Paper clips, needles, or SIM tools can bend the sensitive metal contacts and permanently damage the port.
Carefully move along the bottom and edges to remove hardened lint.
Blow it out: Blow out any remaining dust particles.
Step 2: Check the cable and power source
Check the fit: Plug in the charging cable. When the port is clean, the plug will click into place with a noticeable click.
Test the accessories: Connect the device to a different outlet and test a second charging cable and a different power adapter to rule out an accessory defect.
What should you do if the port is clean but the device still won’t charge?
If the port is completely clean and other cables also don’t work, there is an internal hardware or battery fault.
